The VALUE COLLECTION C29741 is a vinyl-coated, galvanized aircraft cable designed for rigging, lifting, tensioning, and general mechanical applications across industrial and construction trades. The bare wire diameter measures 1/16 inch with an overall coated outside diameter of 1/8 inch. The 7x7 strand construction — seven strands of seven wires each — delivers a rated breaking strength of 500 pounds along a continuous 500-foot length. The galvanized steel core resists corrosion, and the vinyl jacket provides abrasion protection and a cleaner surface for applications where the cable contacts finished materials or runs through guides.
This cable is suited for residential and light commercial applications including garage door assemblies, hanging displays, security barriers, tension wire runs, and low-load rigging setups. Electrical, HVAC, and general mechanical contractors frequently use aircraft cable of this type for equipment support, conduit messenger wire, and suspended ceiling grid tensioning. The 500-foot spool length reduces the need for mid-run splices on longer runs. The vinyl coating makes it suitable for environments where bare wire contact with adjacent materials is undesirable.
Designed as a general-purpose 7x7 vinyl-coated aircraft cable suitable for standard swage fittings, cable clamps, and ferrule sleeves rated for 1/8 inch diameter wire rope.
Installation should be performed by qualified tradespeople following applicable ASME, OSHA, or project-specific rigging standards. Always verify that end terminations — swage sleeves, clamps, or thimbles — are rated for the cable diameter and the intended load before placing in service. Inspect the cable for kinks, broken strands, or coating damage prior to installation, as these conditions reduce the rated breaking strength. Do not use breaking strength as a working load limit — apply the appropriate design factor for the application.
