The VALUE COLLECTION C1200606 is a Woodruff keyseat cutter designed for milling semicircular keyseats into shafts and mating components. Built from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, it features a staggered-tooth configuration across 10 teeth to reduce chatter and improve chip evacuation during the cut. The cutter measures 0.75 inches in diameter and 0.1875 inches in cutting width, with a 1/2-inch shank diameter and an overall length of 2.1875 inches. It conforms to ANSI Standard Number 606 (Old Standard Number 9). Machinists and toolroom technicians use this cutter on manual or CNC milling machines for precision keyseat work in steel, aluminum, and similar machinable materials.
This cutter is suited for production and maintenance machining applications requiring accurate keyseat dimensions on cylindrical shaft stock. The staggered-tooth geometry distributes cutting forces evenly, making it effective for both conventional and light climb milling passes. It is appropriate for job shops, maintenance repair operations, and manufacturing environments where Woodruff key fitment is required per ANSI specification. The 1/2-inch shank accepts standard milling machine arbors and collet holders commonly found in these settings.
Designed as an ANSI 606-compliant Woodruff keyseat cutter compatible with standard 1/2-inch milling machine arbors and collet holders used in manual and CNC vertical milling applications.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists following applicable shop safety procedures. Secure the shank firmly in a properly sized collet or arbor before operation, and ensure the workpiece is clamped rigidly to prevent movement during the cut. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or inspecting the cutter. Do not exceed the cutter's rated speed range for the material being machined.
