The VALUE COLLECTION C1200305 is a Woodruff keyseat cutter designed for milling semicircular keyseats into shafts and mating components. It features a 0.625-inch cut diameter and a 0.0938-inch (3/32 inch) cut width, making it sized to ANSI Standard 305 (Old Standard Number 4). The staggered-tooth configuration reduces cutting forces and improves chip evacuation compared to straight-tooth designs. The body is ground from high speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish. The 1/2-inch shank mounts directly into standard milling machine collets or arbors. Machinists and toolroom operators use this cutter in manual knee mills and CNC machining centers for shaft keyway work in maintenance, repair, and production applications.
This cutter is suited for cutting Woodruff keyseats in steel, aluminum, brass, and similar machinable materials on horizontal or vertical milling machines. The ANSI 305 designation corresponds to a keyseat sized for a standard Woodruff key, making it a direct selection from standard keyway charts used in mechanical power transmission work. It is appropriate for job shops, maintenance departments, and production facilities where shaft keyway milling is a routine operation.
Designed as an ANSI 305 (Old Standard Number 4) Woodruff keyseat cutter compatible with standard Woodruff key specifications for that designation. Fits milling machines and machining centers accepting a 1/2-inch shank.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians on milling equipment. Secure the shank firmly in a collet, end mill holder, or arbor rated for the 1/2-inch diameter before use. Ensure the workpiece is rigidly clamped and the machine spindle is at a full stop before mounting or removing the cutter. Follow standard feeds, speeds, and depth-of-cut guidelines appropriate for HSS tooling in the workpiece material being machined.
