The VALUE COLLECTION BS2700022 is an 11/32 inch (0.3438 inch) high speed steel jobber drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and similar materials. It features a 130-degree standard point angle and a slow spiral flute configuration, which improves chip evacuation when working softer, gummy materials like aluminum and copper alloys. The bright, uncoated finish is appropriate for general shop use where coating retention is not a priority. With an overall length of 4.75 inches and a flute length of 3.4375 inches (3-7/16 inches), this bit fits standard drill chucks and drilling fixtures used in fabrication and mechanical service work.
This jobber-length drill bit is suited for light fabrication, HVAC sheet metal work, plumbing rough-in drilling, and general mechanical assembly where non-ferrous or soft metal materials are involved. The straight cylindrical shank accepts all standard three-jaw drill chucks. Right-hand cutting direction is compatible with conventional drill press and handheld drill operation. The slow spiral geometry reduces the tendency for the bit to grab and walk in soft metals, making it a practical choice for technicians drilling aluminum brackets, fittings, or enclosures in the field or shop.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill bit suitable for use in drill presses, handheld power drills, and benchtop drilling fixtures that accept straight-shank bits. Primary workpiece compatibility is aluminum and non-ferrous metals per ANSI specification designation.
This bit is installed and removed by a licensed or qualified technician following standard drilling safety practices. Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling to prevent movement or grabbing. Always wear appropriate eye protection, and ensure the drill chuck is fully tightened before operation. Bit should be withdrawn periodically during deep drilling to clear chips and prevent heat buildup.
