The VALUE COLLECTION BS26N0048 is a wire-gauge No. 48 jobber-length drill bit machined from high speed steel (HSS) and finished bright/uncoated for general-purpose drilling applications. The bit measures 0.076 inches in diameter with a 1-inch flute length and a 2-inch overall length. A 140-degree split-point geometry reduces walking on entry and lowers the thrust force required to start a hole. Fast-spiral fluting evacuates chips efficiently and is well suited to softer materials. This bit is installed by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, maintenance mechanics, and fabricators working with standard drill presses, CNC machines, or hand-held electric drills.

The BS26N0048 is intended for drilling steel, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals, as well as wood. Its general-purpose HSS grade handles the range of materials encountered in light manufacturing, maintenance, and fabrication shops. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard Jacobs-style drill chucks sized for shanks in the 0.050- to 0.100-inch decimal range.
