The VALUE COLLECTION BS26N0043 is a No. 43 wire gauge jobber-length drill bit ground from high speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish. It carries a 140-degree split-style point angle and a fast spiral flute configuration, which helps clear chips efficiently when drilling steel, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and wood. The bit measures 2.25 inches overall length with a 1.25-inch flute length and a straight cylindrical shank. At 0.0890 inches decimal diameter, it covers general-purpose small-hole work across a range of trade and light industrial applications. A web-thinned, tapered web design reduces entry force and helps keep the point centered on the material.
This drill bit is suited for use in handheld drills, drill presses, and CNC or manual machining setups where No. 43 wire gauge holes are required. Typical applications include pilot drilling, tapping clearance holes, and precision small-bore work in sheet metal, structural steel, aluminum extrusions, and wood framing or millwork. The right-hand cutting direction is compatible with standard drill chucks and spindles. It is a general-purpose grade bit appropriate for production, maintenance, and repair drilling tasks in HVAC fabrication, electrical rough-in, plumbing, and general mechanical work.
Designed as a general-purpose No. 43 wire gauge jobber drill bit compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks. Rated for use in steel, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and wood per manufacturer specification.
Installation and use should follow standard machining safety practice: secure the workpiece firmly before drilling and confirm the chuck is properly tightened on the straight shank before operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling steel to extend bit life and maintain hole quality. Replace the bit if point geometry is visibly dulled, as a worn 140-degree point on small-diameter HSS bits increases the risk of walking and breakage. Eye protection is required during all drilling operations.
