The VALUE COLLECTION BS26N0041 is a No. 41 wire-size jobber-length drill bit machined from high speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish. It bores a 0.0960-inch diameter hole and features a 140-degree split-point geometry with web thinning, which reduces the force needed to start a cut and minimizes walking on entry. The fast spiral flute design clears chips quickly, making it well suited for production drilling in light-gauge materials. At 2.375 inches overall length with a 1.375-inch flute, this is a standard jobber-length tool sized for general-purpose bench and drill-press work performed by machinists, maintenance mechanics, and metal fabricators.
This bit is designed for right-hand drilling in steel, aluminum and other non-ferrous metals, and wood. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard three-jaw drill chucks without modification. Its 0.0960-inch shank diameter matches the drill diameter, so no step-down adapter is required. Typical applications include pilot holes, through-holes in sheet metal and structural stock, and small-diameter work in mixed-material assemblies common in light fabrication and MRO maintenance environments.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill bit for use in standard three-jaw drill chucks on bench drill presses, hand drills, and CNC drilling spindles accepting straight-shank tooling in the 0.0960-inch diameter range. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and wood.
Secure the straight shank firmly in a properly sized drill chuck before operation and verify chuck key is removed before powering the machine. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling steel to extend tool life, even though this bit does not feature internal coolant-through capability. Inspect the cutting edges and web for wear or chipping before each use; a dull or damaged point increases the risk of deflection and workpiece damage. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine-specific operating procedures for speed and feed selection based on workpiece material.
