The VALUE COLLECTION BOW-23827 is a partially insulated circular ring terminal designed for crimp connections on 16 to 14 AWG copper wire. The terminal body is constructed from copper contact material, and the insulation sleeve is made from heat-shrink polyolefin, which provides a secure mechanical and environmental seal once heat is applied. The blue color coding corresponds to the standard 16 to 14 AWG wire range, making wire gauge identification straightforward during assembly and inspection. This terminal is suited for electricians, panel builders, and marine or automotive wiring technicians who require a reliable, low-resistance connection at a threaded stud termination point.
This ring terminal is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial wiring applications where a secure loop connection to a screw or stud is required. The 1/4 inch stud size makes it compatible with common terminal blocks, bus bars, and equipment chassis connection points. Typical installations include control panels, junction boxes, automotive wiring harnesses, and equipment ground connections. The partially insulated design allows the installer to verify wire insertion before final crimp, which is useful in high-volume or quality-controlled assembly environments.
Designed as an OEM-style ring terminal replacement for crimp-style wiring applications accepting 16 to 14 AWG conductors and a 1/4 inch stud diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician or wiring technician following applicable NEC guidelines. De-energize the circuit completely before terminating or replacing any ring terminal. Use a calibrated ratcheting crimp tool sized for 16 to 14 AWG terminals to achieve a proper crimp — do not use pliers or uncalibrated tools, as an improper crimp can result in high resistance or pull-out failure. If using the heat-shrink sleeve feature, apply a heat gun evenly around the insulation sleeve after crimping until the sleeve contracts fully around the wire jacket.
