The VALUE COLLECTION BNC/EC/2 is a taper-shank live center designed for use in lathes and turning applications where the workpiece rotates with the center to eliminate friction and heat buildup. Built with a Morse Taper 2 (MT2) shank and a bull nose point style, this unit supports workpieces up to 1,930 pounds and handles a radial load of 440 pounds. The steel construction and 0.0004 inch accuracy rating make it a reliable choice for production turning and general-purpose machining. It is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians working with engine lathes, turret lathes, and similar turning equipment.
The BNC/EC/2 is suited for both light-production and maintenance-shop environments where a dependable live center with a bull nose point is required. The bull nose point style accommodates workpieces with larger center bores or irregular end profiles that a standard 60-degree point cannot engage properly. With a head diameter of 2.48 inches and an overall length of 5.35 inches, the unit fits tail-stock bores sized for MT2 tooling. It is appropriate for residential shop use and commercial machine-shop environments alike.
Designed as a direct-mount live center for lathes equipped with an MT2 tail-stock taper bore.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Before installing or removing the center, power down the lathe and bring the spindle to a full stop. Clean the tail-stock taper bore and the MT2 shank thoroughly before seating to ensure proper engagement and accuracy. Never exceed the rated workpiece weight or radial load capacity during operation.
