The VALUE COLLECTION BDKP814 is a peel blind rivet designed for fastening applications where access is limited to one side of the workpiece. The rivet features a large flange head that distributes clamping load over a wider surface area, reducing the risk of pull-through in softer or thinner materials. The body is aluminum and the mandrel is steel, giving the fastener a good balance of corrosion resistance and pull strength. With a grip range of 3/16 inches to 3/8 inches and a head diameter of 25/64 inches, this rivet suits a range of material stack thicknesses commonly encountered in sheet metal, HVAC duct work, equipment panels, and general fabrication work. Sold in a package of 50 rivets.
This rivet is well suited for residential and light commercial applications where a peel-style blind rivet is specified. Peel rivets expand into multiple petals on the blind side upon setting, creating a larger footprint that locks against the material without a backer — useful in sheet metal assembly, enclosure fabrication, and ductwork. The large flange head makes this version particularly useful when working with softer substrates or oversized holes where a standard-flange head would not provide adequate bearing area. Installation requires a standard rivet gun or pneumatic rivet tool capable of accepting 3/16-inch body rivets.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-stock peel blind rivet for use with any 3/16-inch rivet tool or pneumatic rivet gun that accepts large flange head peel rivets within a 3/16-inch to 3/8-inch grip range.
Installation is performed by sheet metal workers, HVAC technicians, or general fabricators using a hand, pneumatic, or battery-powered rivet tool sized for 3/16-inch rivets. Drill the pilot hole to the correct diameter before inserting the rivet — an undersized or oversized hole will affect clamp force and peel performance. Ensure the material stack is within the 3/16-inch to 3/8-inch grip range before setting; installing outside the grip range can result in an incomplete peel or a loose joint. The mandrel stem will break off and eject upon proper setting — use appropriate eye protection during installation.
