The VALUE COLLECTION BDC87695 is a rubber grommet designed to protect wiring, tubing, and cable runs where they pass through metal panels, chassis walls, and enclosures. The grommet seats into a punched or drilled opening and cushions the edge to prevent abrasion and chafing of insulation or jacketing. With an outside diameter of 1-5/16 inches, a slot diameter of 1 inch, a slot width of 1/4 inch, and a thickness of 9/16 inch, it fits a standard panel cutout while providing a secure, snug seal around the routed material. The inside diameter is 11/16 inch. The all-rubber construction stays flexible across typical service temperature ranges encountered in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing panel applications.
This grommet is used wherever conductors, control wiring, refrigerant tubing, or small-diameter pipe or conduit must pass cleanly through a sheet metal panel, junction box knockout, or equipment cabinet wall. It is a common component in residential and light commercial HVAC equipment, electrical enclosures, and plumbing rough-in assemblies. Electricians, HVAC technicians, and plumbers install this type of grommet during equipment assembly or service to maintain wire protection and meet workmanship standards required by applicable codes. Sold in a package quantity of 25.
Designed as a standard rubber panel grommet suitable for use in HVAC equipment, electrical enclosures, and plumbing panel assemblies wherever a 1-5/16 inch OD grommet seat is required.
Installation requires no specialized tools — the grommet is pressed by hand into a clean panel opening sized to accept the outside diameter. Ensure the panel edge is free of burrs before seating to avoid tearing the rubber. Power down or de-energize any enclosure before routing conductors through the grommet. Follow applicable NEC or equipment manufacturer guidelines for conductor fill and protection at panel penetrations.
