The VALUE COLLECTION BD9690 is a rubber grommet designed to protect wiring, tubing, and cables where they pass through panel cutouts, sheet metal, and enclosure walls. The grommet seats into a punched or drilled hole, cushioning the edge and preventing abrasion damage to insulation or soft tubing. With a 1-1/8 inch outer diameter, a 5/8 inch inside diameter, a 29/32 inch slot diameter, and a 5/16 inch slot width, this grommet suits a wide range of low-voltage wiring and control-line routing tasks common in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment enclosures. Electricians, HVAC technicians, and sheet metal mechanics install these as a standard step during panel wiring and equipment rough-in.
This grommet is suited for residential and light commercial applications wherever conductors or tubing must transition through a metal panel without direct contact with a raw edge. Typical install locations include furnace control-board compartments, electrical junction enclosures, condenser unit wiring passages, and pump or motor housings. The slotted design allows the grommet to be installed over an existing wire run without needing to thread the wire end through first, saving time on retrofit and service work. Each order includes 10 grommets.
Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style replacement or new-installation grommet for use in electrical enclosures, HVAC equipment panels, and mechanical equipment housings requiring a 1-1/8 inch outer diameter panel-hole fit.
De-energize all electrical circuits before working inside any panel or enclosure. Confirm the panel hole diameter matches the 1-1/8 inch outer diameter of the grommet before seating. Press the grommet firmly into the hole until the outer flange seats flush against the panel face on both sides. Follow applicable NEC requirements for conductor protection at panel penetrations.
