The VALUE COLLECTION BD-C416506 is a bronze alloy split bolt connector designed to join or tap copper and aluminum conductors in electrical installations. The connector accommodates wire sizes from 12 AWG up to 8 AWG and features a 3/8 inch head width for a secure mechanical bite on the conductors. Both the connector body and pressure bar are constructed from bronze alloy, providing reliable conductivity and corrosion resistance. This type of fitting is a staple in residential and commercial electrical work wherever a strong, code-acceptable mechanical splice or tap connection is required. Each package contains 5 connectors.
Split bolt connectors of this type are used in wire-to-wire splicing and tap applications across a wide range of electrical systems, including service entrance wiring, feeder runs, branch circuit splices in junction boxes, and grounding conductor connections. They are well suited for use in conduit installations, meter bases, and panel connections where conductors must be joined without the use of a wire nut or compression sleeve. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers of this hardware.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use split bolt connector suitable for copper and aluminum conductors ranging from 12 AWG to 8 AWG in residential and commercial electrical applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize the circuit and verify the absence of voltage with an appropriate meter before making any connections. Strip conductors to the appropriate length, seat both wires in the bolt channel, and tighten the nut firmly to achieve full contact between the pressure bar and conductors. Insulate the completed connection with listed self-fusing tape or pre-insulated split bolt covers where required by code.
