The VALUE COLLECTION BD-17629 is a steel square electrical junction box designed for housing and protecting wire connections in residential and commercial electrical installations. Built from steel for durability, this box measures 4-11/16 inches in height, 4-11/16 inches in width, and 2-1/8 inches in depth. It features 17 knockouts sized at 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch trade size, providing flexible conduit entry options for a wide range of wiring configurations. This is a non-weather-resistant enclosure intended for dry or protected indoor locations. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this type of box as part of branch-circuit and feeder wiring systems.
This junction box is suited for use in standard indoor electrical rough-in and finish work. The square form factor and generous knockout count make it a practical choice for multi-circuit junction points, device mounting applications with mud rings, or anywhere a larger-volume enclosure is needed over a standard 4-inch box. It is appropriate for new construction, renovation, and retrofit electrical work in walls, ceilings, and concealed spaces where the box will be covered by a cover plate or mud ring assembly.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit junction box for indoor electrical enclosure applications requiring a square 4-11/16 inch steel box with 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch knockouts.
Installation should be performed by a qualified, licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit at the panel and verify absence of voltage before making any wire connections inside the box. This enclosure is rated non-weather-resistant and must not be installed in wet or outdoor locations without an appropriate weatherproof cover and rating. Secure the box to structural framing or support brackets per NEC requirements before pulling conductors.
