The VALUE COLLECTION BD-15259 is a PVC plastic pipe bushing designed to reduce a 1-1/4 inch fitting down to a 1/2 inch connection. It features a spigot on the larger end and a slip socket on the smaller end, allowing it to seat directly into a standard slip fitting on one side while accepting a slip connection on the other. This type of reducing bushing is a standard component in PVC pressure and drain piping systems. Plumbers and pipefitters install these when transitioning between pipe sizes within a run, at fixture connections, or at equipment takeoffs where a direct threaded reducer is not appropriate.
This bushing is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where PVC piping is used for water supply, irrigation, or drain-waste-vent systems. The spigot x slip end configuration makes it compatible with solvent-weld PVC fittings throughout the run. It is a compact, single-piece fitting that keeps transitions tight and minimizes the number of joints in a system.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard solvent-weld PVC piping systems using 1-1/4 inch and 1/2 inch nominal pipe sizes.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting into any existing piping. Clean and dry all mating surfaces before applying PVC primer and solvent cement per the cement manufacturer instructions. Allow full cure time before pressurizing the system.
