Built from M42 high-speed steel, it handles the heat generated when drilling steel, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and wood without losing its edge as quickly as standard HSS bits. The split point geometry reduces walking at startup, eliminating the need for a center punch on most surfaces. At 3.875 inches overall length with a 2.625-inch flute, it fits standard drill chucks and most drill press setups used by machinists, pipefitters, and general trade technicians.
