The VALUE COLLECTION B52001630 is a 1-1/4-7 UNC hex lock nut with a nylon insert locking mechanism, manufactured from Grade 8 steel with a yellow zinc dichromate finish. The nylon insert creates interference with mating threads to resist loosening caused by vibration and torque. At 1-25/64 inches in height and 1-13/16 inches across the flats, this is a heavy-duty fastener suited for high-strength bolted assemblies. The yellow zinc dichromate finish provides a baseline level of corrosion resistance. Machinists, millwrights, maintenance technicians, and field mechanics working on structural and mechanical assemblies specify this type of nut where positive thread locking is required without chemical thread-lock compounds.
This nylon insert lock nut is used in industrial machinery, agricultural equipment, heavy transportation, structural fabrication, and general mechanical assemblies where a 1-1/4-7 UNC thread pattern is specified. It is appropriate for applications demanding Grade 8 material strength, such as high-load bolted connections in frames, brackets, and suspension or drivetrain components. The right-hand thread direction is standard for the vast majority of industrial fastener applications.
Designed for use with 1-1/4-7 UNC right-hand threaded bolts and studs conforming to inch-series fastener standards. Suitable for Grade 8 or lower-grade fastener pairings in structural and mechanical assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a qualified mechanic or millwright using a properly sized wrench or socket matched to the 1-13/16 inch across-flats dimension. Always ensure the mating bolt or stud is clean and free of damage before threading the nut. Do not reuse nylon insert lock nuts after removal, as the nylon insert loses clamping effectiveness once it has been fully seated and removed. Torque to the value specified by the equipment manufacturer or applicable engineering standard for the joint being assembled.
