The VALUE COLLECTION B180 8 is a 1/4-inch Class 150 malleable iron cross fitting with a black finish and threaded end connections. Designed for four-way pipe branch connections, it distributes or joins flow in a single plane across plumbing, fire protection, and gas distribution systems. The cross configuration accepts pipe on all four ports, making it well suited for manifold-style layouts and distribution headers. At 0.19 pounds, the fitting is lightweight but built to handle a 300 psi liquid and gas pressure rating. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors are the primary installers for this type of fitting.
This fitting is appropriate for residential and light commercial applications where a four-way threaded branch connection is required in a 1/4-inch line. Common uses include compressed air distribution, low-pressure gas piping, and fire suppression branch lines where the system requires FM-approved components. The black finish is standard for gas piping identification in many jurisdictions. Compliance with EN 10242, FM Approved, GB/T 3287, GB/T 7306.2, ISO 7/1, and cULus Listed standards broadens its applicability across North American and international project specifications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1/4-inch threaded pipe systems in plumbing, gas, and fire protection applications meeting Class 150 pressure requirements.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes, including IFGC and IPC requirements for gas and plumbing systems. Shut off and depressurize the line fully before disassembling existing fittings or threading in a new cross. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to all male threads before assembly, and tighten with a pipe wrench to achieve a leak-free joint without overtightening the malleable iron body. Pressure-test the completed assembly before returning the system to service.
