The VALUE COLLECTION ATR2561 is a straight-flute taper pin reamer designed for enlarging, finishing, and shaping tapered holes to accept standard taper pins. Manufactured from high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this reamer is suited for general-purpose shop and field use. It features a size 6/0 taper pin profile with a small end diameter of 0.0611 inches and a large end diameter of 0.0806 inches. The taper rate is 1:48, which is the standard for taper pin applications. Machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians use this reamer to produce accurately sized tapered bores in metal components.
This reamer is used in applications requiring precise tapered hole preparation for taper pin fastening — a common method for securing hubs, collars, and mechanical assemblies on shafts. It is appropriate for use in job shops, manufacturing facilities, and maintenance environments where small-diameter taper pin holes are required. The 15/16-inch flute length and 1-15/16-inch overall length make it practical for small, tight workpiece geometries. The right-hand cutting direction and straight flute geometry are standard for manual and machine spindle use on ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Designed as a general-purpose taper pin reamer for size 6/0 taper pin applications in standard 1:48 taper pin holes across ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces.
This reamer is installed by machinists or maintenance technicians using a standard drill press, lathe tailstock, or hand-held brace with appropriate chuck or collet. Secure the workpiece firmly before reaming and apply a suitable cutting fluid to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Always ream in the cutting direction — right-hand rotation for this tool — and avoid reversing under load, which can damage the cutting edges. Follow applicable shop safety practices and use proper eye protection when operating rotary cutting tools.
