The VALUE COLLECTION -93660-2 is a stainless steel hex jam nut designed for use with Unified National Coarse (UNC) threaded fastener assemblies. With a 3/4-inch across-flats dimension and a 5/16-inch height, this low-profile nut is used to lock a standard hex nut in place, preventing loosening caused by vibration or dynamic loading. The right-hand thread direction follows standard fastener convention. Fabricated from stainless steel, it offers corrosion resistance suitable for wet, outdoor, or chemically exposed environments. Plumbers, pipefitters, electricians, and general mechanical trades install jam nuts as part of threaded rod and fastener locknut assemblies.
This jam nut is appropriate for light-duty to medium-duty threaded fastener applications across residential and commercial settings. Typical uses include threaded rod assemblies, equipment mounting, plumbing support hardware, and electrical conduit support systems. The UNC thread standard makes it compatible with the most common inch-series threaded components used throughout North American trade work. The stainless steel construction makes it a practical choice for installations where standard steel fasteners would be prone to rust or surface corrosion.
Designed as a standard UNC inch-series hex jam nut for use with right-hand threaded rods, bolts, and fastener assemblies in general mechanical, plumbing, and electrical support applications.
Hex jam nuts are installed by threading the jam nut onto the fastener first, then threading the standard hex nut on top, and torquing both nuts against each other to create a locking assembly. Use an appropriate open-end or box wrench sized for the 3/4-inch across-flats dimension. Always de-energize equipment and relieve system pressure before servicing fastener assemblies on active mechanical or electrical systems. Follow applicable codes including NEC or IPC as relevant to the installation type.
