The VALUE COLLECTION 882-060C is a Schedule 80 CPVC threaded pipe nipple designed for use in pressurized piping systems where chemical resistance and durability are required. Measuring 1/2 inch in pipe size and 6 inches in length, this nipple is molded from chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) and finished in gray. The threaded ends allow direct connection to standard fittings, valves, and equipment without solvent welding at the joint. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of nipple in close or run configurations between fittings, unions, and equipment flanges. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides greater pressure-bearing capacity compared to Schedule 40, making it suitable for demanding service conditions.
This nipple is used in residential and light commercial plumbing applications, including hot and cold water distribution, chemical handling lines, and industrial process piping where CPVC material is specified. Its gray color and Schedule 80 rating are consistent with standard industrial CPVC piping systems. The threaded connection style makes it compatible with NPT fittings commonly found in plumbing and mechanical installations. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters typically install this component during new construction or retrofit piping work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for Schedule 80 CPVC threaded piping systems using 1/2 inch NPT fittings and connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local codes. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before removing or installing any pipe nipple. Use a strap wrench on CPVC to avoid cracking the pipe wall — do not use steel pipe wrenches directly on the plastic body. Apply an appropriate thread sealant rated for CPVC and the intended service fluid before making up the threaded connection.
