The VALUE COLLECTION 86853256 is a Grade 8 alloy steel split lock washer sized for 1/2 inch fasteners and finished with a zinc plating for corrosion resistance. The split lock design bites into the bearing surface under load, resisting loosening caused by vibration and torque relaxation. Inside diameter runs 0.502 to 0.512 inches with an outside diameter of 0.779 to 0.869 inches and a nominal thickness of 0.125 inches. Grade 8 material provides higher hardness and load capacity than standard Grade 5 or low-carbon washers.
