The VALUE COLLECTION 843-0031 is a double-end ball end mill designed for precision milling operations requiring a very small cutting diameter. Built from high speed steel, this stub-length tool delivers consistent performance in light-to-moderate cutting applications across ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 0.0313-inch cutting diameter and 0.0469-inch length of cut make it suited for fine detail work, micro-slot milling, and tight-tolerance profiling. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life between replacements. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction follow standard milling convention for use on conventional vertical mills and CNC machining centers.
This end mill is used in applications where small-diameter ball-nose geometry is required, such as engraving, die and mold work, prototype machining, and fine surface contouring. The 3/16-inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders commonly found in light-duty CNC mills, knee mills, and benchtop machining equipment. The 2-inch overall length provides adequate reach without sacrificing rigidity at this diameter. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and precision job shop operators are the typical installers and users of this tooling.
Designed as a standard stub-length ball end mill for use in vertical machining centers, knee mills, and benchtop CNC mills equipped with collets or end mill holders accepting a 3/16-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Secure the shank firmly in a clean, undamaged collet or end mill holder to the recommended clamping torque for the holder type in use. At this diameter, excessive runout or improper clamping will accelerate tool wear and risk breakage.
