The VALUE COLLECTION 842-0187 is a double-end, two-flute square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in metal and non-ferrous workpiece materials. Manufactured from high speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool measures 0.1875 inches in mill diameter with a 9/32-inch (0.2813 inches) length of cut and a 2-inch overall length. The straight shank matches the mill diameter at 3/16 inches, making it compatible with standard collets and end mill holders. The stub-length profile and 30-degree helix angle suit applications requiring rigidity and accurate shoulder milling in light to medium material removal.
This end mill fits residential and commercial machine shop environments, including CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual bridgeport-style mills. The centercutting geometry allows both peripheral and plunge cutting, broadening its utility for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling tasks. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life between replacements. It is commonly installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with aluminum, brass, mild steel, and similar materials where an uncoated HSS tool is appropriate.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use end mill for standard 3/16-inch collets and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and the machine control in a safe, locked-out state per applicable facility lockout/tagout procedures. Secure the straight shank firmly in a properly sized collet or end mill holder to the torque specification listed by the holder manufacturer. Inspect the cutting edges and shank for runout before commencing a cut. Do not exceed the manufacturer-recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
