The VALUE COLLECTION 840-0125 is a double-end square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. Built from high speed steel, it features a 1/8 inch cutting diameter and a 3/8 inch length of cut, making it well suited for slotting, profiling, and light peripheral milling in steel, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the bright uncoated finish is appropriate for lower-heat applications where additional coating is not required. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this type of end mill in standard vertical or CNC milling machines.
This end mill fits into machining setups that require a small-diameter cutting tool for fine detail work, narrow slots, or light finishing passes. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life between changeouts. With a straight shank diameter of 3/16 inch and an overall length of 2-1/4 inches, it is compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders sized for 3/16 inch shanks. It is part of the Series 840 regular-length line intended for fractional inch machining applications.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or production end mill for use in standard vertical mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers equipped with collet systems or end mill holders accepting a 3/16 inch straight shank.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists familiar with milling machine setup and toolholding systems. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before changing tooling. Seat the straight shank fully into the collet or holder and tighten to the toolholder specification using appropriate wrenches. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, particularly at small diameters where even minor misalignment affects tool life and surface finish.
