The VALUE COLLECTION 839-168 is a Schedule 80 PVC pipe bushing designed to reduce a 1-1/4-inch male pipe thread to a 1-inch female pipe thread in pressurized piping systems. Constructed from PVC, this bushing offers strong chemical resistance and durability in both above-ground and below-ground applications. The MIPT x FIPT end connections allow direct threaded installation into existing pipe fittings without additional adapters. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of bushing when transitioning between pipe sizes in water supply, irrigation, chemical distribution, and industrial fluid systems.
This bushing is suited for residential and commercial plumbing, irrigation, and industrial piping applications where a Schedule 80 pressure rating and PVC chemical resistance are required. The threaded male-to-female design makes it a practical inline reducer for tight spaces. It is commonly installed in PVC pipeline assemblies requiring a step-down from 1-1/4-inch to 1-inch nominal pipe size.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVC threaded piping systems using 1-1/4-inch to 1-inch pipe size reductions.
A licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter should install this bushing in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC standards. Depressurize and drain the piping system completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Hand-tighten first, then use strap wrenches to avoid cracking the PVC body from over-torquing.
