The VALUE COLLECTION 836-015C is a Schedule 80 CPVC male adapter fitting designed to transition between a male iron pipe thread connection and a slip socket connection in plastic piping systems. Sized at 1-1/2 inches, it handles the mechanical and thermal demands common in hot and cold water distribution, chemical handling, and industrial process lines where CPVC is the specified material. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added pressure resistance compared to Schedule 40, making it a practical choice in higher-pressure service conditions. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this fitting.
This adapter is suited for residential and commercial plumbing installations where CPVC pipe is used and a threaded-to-socket transition is required. Typical applications include connecting threaded valve bodies, pumps, or equipment ports directly into a CPVC slip-joint piping run. The MIPT end threads onto a female-threaded port while the slip end accepts a 1-1/2 inch CPVC pipe for solvent cement joining. It is sold individually, making it appropriate for single-fitting replacement or small-quantity repair work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems using 1-1/2 inch nominal pipe with MIPT x Slip end connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line completely before cutting into any existing piping. The slip end requires proper CPVC solvent cement and primer applied per the cement manufacturer's instructions — do not use PVC cement on CPVC fittings. Apply thread sealant tape or compound rated for plastic threads to the MIPT connection to prevent leaks without over-torquing the fitting.
