The VALUE COLLECTION 738130PS is a metric hex lock nut designed to resist loosening under vibration and dynamic loads. It uses a distorted thread locking style, which deforms slightly during installation to create a prevailing torque that resists back-off without requiring a separate nylon insert or chemical compound. Manufactured from Class 8 steel with a zinc finish for basic corrosion resistance, this nut is built to DIN 980 and ISO 7042 standards. The M8x1.25 thread size and 13.00 mm width across flats make it a common choice across mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical trade applications wherever a reliable threaded fastener is required.
This hex lock nut is suited for use in both residential and light commercial applications where metric fasteners are specified. It is commonly used in equipment assembly, panel mounting, bracket installation, and mechanical connections in HVAC units, pumps, electrical enclosures, and similar trade equipment. The right-hand thread direction is standard for most mechanical assemblies. At 0.01 pounds per unit, this nut is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 100 pieces, making it appropriate for contractor stock or bulk fastener inventory.
Designed as a standard DIN 980 and ISO 7042 metric hex lock nut for use with M8x1.25 threaded fastener assemblies in HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment applications.
Installation is performed using a standard metric wrench or socket sized for 13.00 mm across flats. Power down or de-energize any equipment before accessing threaded fastener locations in electrical or HVAC assemblies. Distorted thread lock nuts are single-use by design and should not be reused after removal, as the locking torque diminishes with each installation cycle. Follow applicable equipment manufacturer torque guidelines and relevant trade codes when fastening structural or load-bearing connections.
