The VALUE COLLECTION 724-6595 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, this tool handles tough ferrous and non-ferrous materials while maintaining edge integrity under heat. The 1.25-inch (1-1/4 inch) diameter, 3-flute geometry is optimized for high-helix, right-hand cutting with a right-hand flute direction, delivering efficient chip evacuation during roughing passes. It is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on manual mills and CNC machining centers rely on this profile for first-pass stock removal before finishing.
This end mill is suited for use on knee mills, bridgeport-style machines, and CNC vertical machining centers where aggressive roughing cuts are required. The 2-inch length of cut (LOC) and 4.5-inch overall length (OAL) make it appropriate for moderate-depth pocketing, slotting, and profile roughing in steel, stainless, and alloy materials. The 1-1/4 inch shank diameter matches standard R8, CAT, and BT toolholding collets and end mill holders common in shop environments. It is sold as a single-end tool, used on one cutting end only.
Designed as a general-purpose roughing end mill for use in standard end mill holders and collet chucks accepting a 1-1/4 inch shank diameter on manual or CNC milling machines.
Installation and tooling changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine powered down. Use a calibrated torque wrench and the appropriate end mill holder or collet to secure the 1-1/4 inch shank; improper clamping torque can cause tool pullout under cutting loads. Verify runout with a dial indicator before taking the first cut. Follow applicable shop safety practices and machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speeds and feed rates appropriate to the workpiece material.
