The VALUE COLLECTION 724-6577 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a TiN coating, it holds up under high heat and abrasive cutting conditions where standard HSS tooling fails prematurely. The 1 inch diameter cutting head features 3 flutes in a right-hand helical configuration, optimized for chip evacuation during heavy roughing passes. Length of cut is 3 inches with an overall length of 5.5 inches. This tool is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry where required. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this style of end mill to rough stock to near-net shape before finishing operations.
This roughing end mill is suited for milling operations on steel, stainless, cast iron, and other hard materials in manual or CNC machining centers. The high-helix flute geometry helps clear chips effectively during deep-slot and side-milling passes. The 1 inch shank diameter matches standard collet and end mill holder bores on most vertical and horizontal machining centers. Single-end construction keeps cost per unit manageable for shops that regrind tooling. The TiN coating adds surface hardness and lubricity, extending tool life in production environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement roughing end mill for use in standard end mill holders, collet chucks, and side-lock holders with a 1 inch bore, compatible with most vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers and manual knee mills accepting 1 inch shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for tool holding and runout tolerances. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Inspect the shank and holder bore for chips or burrs before seating the tool, and torque set screws or collet nuts to the holder manufacturer specification. Verify tool runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut.
