The VALUE COLLECTION 724-5270 is a single-end, 6-flute roughing finishing end mill designed for aggressive material removal and finish passes in one tool. Manufactured from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with Titanium Nitride (TiN), it delivers extended tool life and heat resistance in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. The 1-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 4-inch length of cut and a 6.5-inch overall length, making it well suited for deep-pocket and full-depth milling operations. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces chatter during heavy cuts. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and toolroom professionals in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for milling operations requiring both roughing and finishing capability without a tool change. The square end geometry handles shoulder milling, slotting, and peripheral milling in a wide range of materials. The Weldon flat shank provides positive drive and minimizes slippage in side-lock tool holders. It is appropriate for use on vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC milling machines where a 1-inch tool holder is available. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting rotation are standard for conventional milling setups.
Designed for use in 1-inch Weldon flat side-lock end mill holders on vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC milling machines. Suitable for right-hand spindle rotation setups in standard production milling configurations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines. Secure the Weldon flat shank firmly in a properly sized side-lock holder and verify runout before beginning a cut. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the tool. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material and machine rigidity.
