The VALUE COLLECTION 724-5191 is a single-end roughing finishing end mill designed for aggressive material removal followed by semi-finish passes in a single tool. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with Titanium Nitride (TiN), it delivers elevated hardness and heat resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The 3/4 inch diameter, 4-flute configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. With a 2.5 inch length of cut and 4.625 inch overall length, this end mill suits deeper pocketing and slotting operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. A Weldon flat shank provides positive tool holding in compatible end mill holders.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical machining centers, knee mills, and manual or CNC milling setups where a single tool must handle both roughing and finishing duties. The square end geometry supports shoulder milling, slotting, and peripheral cutting. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting rotation make it compatible with standard spindle setups. This tool is not center-cutting, so plunge milling is not recommended without a pre-drilled entry hole. It is a practical choice for job shops, maintenance machining, and production environments working with steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and similar materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for 3/4 inch end mill holders and collet chucks accepting a Weldon flat shank in vertical mills and machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully powered down and locked out before tooling changes. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully into the holder and torque the set screw against the flat per the tool holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts. Because this tool is not center-cutting, do not attempt direct plunge entry into solid material.
