The VALUE COLLECTION 724-5146 is a cobalt roughing finishing end mill designed for material removal and surface finishing in a single tool. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with Titanium Nitride (TiN), it delivers extended tool life and heat resistance in demanding cutting applications. The 5/8 inch diameter, 4-flute, single-end configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and a smooth finish. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with ferrous metals, stainless steels, and other hard materials.

This end mill is suited for use in vertical machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines where a combination roughing and finishing pass is required. The Weldon flat shank provides a secure, slip-resistant connection to standard collet and side-lock holders. With a right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting rotation, it is compatible with conventional CNC and manual milling setups. It is not a centercutting tool, so plunge cuts are not recommended; peripheral and slot milling are the intended operations.

Installation Notes

Seat the Weldon flat shank fully into the holder and tighten the set screw against the flat to prevent axial pullout. Do not use this end mill for plunge cutting, as it is not centercutting.
