The VALUE COLLECTION 724-5095 is a roughing and finishing end mill designed for material removal and surface finishing in metalworking applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating, it offers elevated heat and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The 4-flute, square-end geometry with a 30-degree helix angle supports efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. At 7/16 inches in diameter with a 1-inch length of cut, it handles both aggressive roughing passes and finish passes on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. A licensed machinist or toolroom technician is the typical installer for this type of cutting tool.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical and horizontal milling machines, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills. The Weldon flat shank at 3/8 inches in diameter provides positive engagement in Weldon-style tool holders, reducing pullout risk under heavy cutting loads. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional and climb milling setups. The single-end configuration and 2-11/16-inch overall length make it practical for general-purpose slot milling, pocket milling, and peripheral milling operations in job shop and production environments.
Designed for use in standard Weldon-style end mill holders accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter, compatible with vertical and horizontal milling machines and CNC machining centers that support right-hand cutting tools.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the Weldon flat fully against the set screw in the holder and torque the set screw per the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, and verify the spindle rotation direction matches the right-hand cutting designation of this tool.
