The VALUE COLLECTION 724-2278 is a single-end cobalt roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers increased heat and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling, making it well-suited for harder workpiece materials. The cutter measures 1.125 inches in diameter with a 3/4-inch shank and a 2-inch length of cut. Six flutes distribute cutting load across the tool, improving chip clearance and reducing chatter during heavy roughing passes. The bright, uncoated finish is standard for general-purpose roughing applications. This is a right-hand cut, right-hand helix tool configured for use in conventional vertical or horizontal milling setups.

This end mill is intended for roughing passes where stock removal rate takes priority over surface finish. The 6-flute geometry and cobalt construction make it appropriate for medium to hard ferrous metals, alloy steels, stainless steel, and similar materials in job shop and production machining environments.
