The VALUE COLLECTION 724-0239 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Manufactured from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it delivers reliable performance in tough ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 1-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 2-inch length of cut, giving machinists adequate reach for standard roughing passes. Five flutes provide good chip clearance and cutting efficiency. Center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry, adding versatility to the tool. This end mill is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in manual mills and CNC machining centers.
This roughing end mill suits general-purpose roughing applications in job shops, production machining, and maintenance environments. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional milling setups. The 3/4-inch shank diameter is compatible with standard R8, ER, and side-lock toolholders commonly found in vertical knee mills and machining centers. No extended reach is required for typical workpiece setups where a 4-1/4-inch overall length is sufficient. It is suited for steel, stainless, and other materials where M42 cobalt provides an advantage over standard M2 HSS.
Designed as a general-purpose roughing end mill compatible with standard 3/4-inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and side-lock holders used in vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolroom practices. Ensure the milling machine spindle is fully stopped and the power is locked out before inserting or removing the end mill. Use a properly sized collet or holder and torque retention screws to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut to avoid premature tool wear or chatter.
