The VALUE COLLECTION 724-0095 is a single-end cobalt roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat resistance and edge retention when cutting ferrous metals, stainless steels, and hard alloys. The 7/16-inch (0.4375-inch) cutting diameter pairs with a 3/8-inch shank, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 2-11/16-inch overall length. The bright/uncoated finish suits applications where coating compatibility with the workpiece material is a concern. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this end mill in vertical or horizontal milling machines and CNC machining centers.
This roughing end mill is suited for hogging operations that require rapid stock removal before finishing passes. The 4-flute, right-hand cut and right-hand spiral geometry produces efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The center-cutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled starting hole, adding flexibility during setup. It is a practical choice for job shops, maintenance machining, and production environments where cobalt tooling is preferred over carbide in interrupted-cut or harder-material applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-stock roughing end mill for use in milling machines and CNC machining centers that accept a 3/8-inch shank end mill holder or collet chuck.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard toolroom practice. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the 3/8-inch shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware to the machine or holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and verify runout with a dial indicator when dimensional accuracy is critical.
