Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers the heat and wear resistance needed when cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temp alloys. The mill measures 0.8661 inches (22.00 mm) in diameter with a 1.5-inch length of cut and a 3.75-inch overall length. It features 2 spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle, a right-hand cut, and a right-hand flute direction. The bright, uncoated finish makes it straightforward to inspect for wear. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this type of end mill on vertical mills, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, which adds flexibility to tool paths. Do not exceed the manufacturer-rated depth of cut for the material being machined, and ensure adequate cutting fluid flow when machining stainless steel or high-temp alloys to prevent work hardening.
