The VALUE COLLECTION 723-9110 is a cobalt square end mill designed for material removal in ferrous and high-temperature alloy machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this single-end mill features a 2-flute spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle and a bright, uncoated finish. The 11 mm (0.4331 inches) cutting diameter pairs with a 13/16-inch (0.8125 inches) length of cut, making it suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling passes where chip clearance and edge rigidity are both priorities. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry into workpieces without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
This end mill is intended for use on manual mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers in job shop, maintenance, and production environments. Its M42 cobalt substrate provides increased red hardness compared to standard M2 HSS, giving it better performance in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloy workpieces. The regular-length body keeps deflection low during side milling passes. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with P, M, K, and S material groups will find this a practical general-purpose cutting tool for moderate-duty applications.
Designed for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys (ISO material groups P, M, K, and S). Fits any toolholder or collet system accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before inserting or removing the end mill from the collet or toolholder. Verify runout at the collet after installation, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on multi-flute tools. Always confirm workpiece clamping, feed rate, and spindle speed are appropriate for the material and depth of cut before starting a pass.
