The VALUE COLLECTION 723-9090 is a single-end cobalt square end mill designed for metal removal in ferrous and high-temperature alloy applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers higher heat resistance than standard HSS tooling, making it a practical choice for harder workpiece materials. The cutting diameter is 0.3543 inches (9.00 mm), with a 9/16-inch length of cut and a 3/8-inch shank diameter. The two-flute geometry provides good chip clearance and allows higher feed rates in slotting operations. Overall length is 2-5/16 inches. The uncoated bright finish is standard for general-purpose machining where coating is not required or where regrinding is anticipated.
This end mill is suited for milling operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. It is appropriate for conventional milling machines, CNC machining centers, and knee mills running at speeds appropriate for cobalt tooling in those materials. The regular-length configuration fits standard toolholding in most shop environments. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute are the conventional orientation for the majority of vertical milling setups. Centercutting capability allows the tool to plunge directly into the workpiece without pre-drilling.
Designed for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloy workpieces. The 3/8-inch shank fits standard collets, end mill holders, and Weldon-style toolholders of that bore size on conventional and CNC vertical mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut. Do not exceed the rated length of cut when side milling, as tool deflection increases significantly beyond the flute length.
