The VALUE COLLECTION 723-6844 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, it delivers increased hardness and heat resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The 1.25-inch diameter cutter features 6 flutes configured in a right-hand cut, right-hand helix orientation, producing the characteristic chip-breaking action roughing geometry is known for. With a 6-inch length of cut and 8.5-inch overall length, this tool suits deep-pocket and long-reach milling applications. It is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC and manual milling equipment.
This end mill is suited for roughing passes on ferrous metals and harder alloys where high material removal rate is the priority over surface finish. The non-centercutting design means it is intended for peripheral and side milling rather than plunge cuts. The 1.25-inch shank diameter matches the cutter diameter, making it compatible with standard ER or end mill holders sized for 1-1/4-inch straight shanks. Typical applications include roughing pockets, slots, and profiles on milling machines in job shop, production, and maintenance machining environments.
Designed for use in standard 1-1/4-inch end mill holders, ER collet chucks, or Weldon shank holders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills equipped to accept this shank diameter.
This tool is installed and changed by qualified machinists following established shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Confirm the holder bore and collet are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Do not use this tool for plunge cutting — the non-centercutting end geometry is not designed for axial entry into solid material.
