The VALUE COLLECTION 723-6823 is a single-end cobalt roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat and wear resistance suited to harder workpiece materials. The cutter measures 1.125 inches in diameter with a 1-inch shank diameter and a 3.5-inch length of cut, providing substantial reach for deep-slot and profile roughing passes. A TiN coating reduces friction and extends tool life under continuous cutting loads. Six flutes distribute chip load evenly, reducing chatter and improving surface finish on roughing cuts. This tool is installed and used by machinists and toolroom professionals in manual and CNC milling applications.
This roughing end mill is suited to vertical and horizontal milling machines, machining centers, and manual knee mills. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard spindle configurations. It is not center-cutting, so it is intended for peripheral and slot milling rather than plunge entry. Typical applications include roughing passes on steel, stainless steel, and other ferrous materials where heat generation and tool wear are primary concerns. The 6-inch overall length accommodates standard tool-holding setups without requiring extended-reach holders.
Designed as a standard-shank roughing end mill for use in milling machines and machining centers accepting a 1-inch diameter tool holder or collet.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the milling machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before loading or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware per the tool-holder manufacturer specifications. This tool is not center-cutting and must not be used for direct plunge entry into solid material.
