The VALUE COLLECTION 723-6790 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers elevated heat and wear resistance during heavy roughing cuts. The 6-flute geometry distributes cutting load across more edges, reducing chatter and improving chip evacuation on tough ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. With a 1-inch cutting diameter and 1.125-inch length of cut, this tool handles substantial stock removal in a single pass. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals select this end mill for production roughing where tool life and cut stability are the primary concerns.
This roughing end mill is suited for use on vertical and horizontal milling machines, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills. Right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional and climb milling setups. The 0.75-inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders commonly found in production and job-shop environments. It is not centercutting, so it is not intended for plunge cuts. This tool is appropriate for roughing passes in steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar materials where the TiN coating provides an advantage in tool longevity.
Designed as a standard single-end roughing end mill compatible with 0.75-inch collets, shrink-fit holders, and end mill holders used on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the 0.75-inch shank fully into the holder to the minimum engagement depth recommended by the holder manufacturer. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on multi-flute tools.
