The VALUE COLLECTION 723-6727 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Manufactured from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, this tool delivers heat resistance and edge retention during heavy roughing cuts. The 7/16-inch cutting diameter and 1-inch length of cut make it well suited for slot milling, profiling, and hogging operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 3/8-inch shank diameter is compatible with standard collets and end mill holders. With 4 flutes and a right-hand cutting and flute direction, this mill provides a balance between chip evacuation and surface finish on roughing passes.
This roughing end mill is intended for use on vertical machining centers, knee mills, and manual or CNC milling machines in job shop, production, and maintenance environments. It is a single-end design, so both ends are not usable — the tool is replaced when the cutting end is worn. The 2-11/16-inch overall length keeps deflection manageable at this diameter. It is not center-cutting, so it cannot be plunged directly into solid material and requires a pre-drilled hole or ramping entry for pocket work. Machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians are the primary users.
Designed as a standard roughing end mill replacement for use in milling machines accepting a 3/8-inch shank. No specific machine model or brand compatibility was stated by the manufacturer for this part number.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tool and die technician. Secure the shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the machine tool manufacturer's specification. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. This tool is not center-cutting — do not attempt a direct plunge into solid material without a lead hole or ramp entry programmed into the toolpath.
