The VALUE COLLECTION 723-6555 is a cobalt corner rounding end mill designed to produce precise, consistent radius profiles on metal workpieces. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this single-end mill delivers strong heat and wear resistance, making it well-suited for harder ferrous materials and interrupted cuts. It features a 5/8-inch corner radius, a 1-15/16-inch mill diameter, and four right-hand flutes in a right-hand cutting direction. The bright, uncoated finish allows straightforward visual inspection of the cutting edges and works with a broad range of cutting fluids. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers of this type of tooling.
This end mill is used in milling operations requiring a uniform convex radius on part edges or contours, common in both job-shop and production environments. Typical applications include rounding sharp corners on mold components, dies, machine components, and structural steel parts. The 3/4-inch shank diameter is suited for standard milling machine or machining center collets and end mill holders of the matching bore size. The 4-inch overall length provides adequate reach for most conventional vertical and horizontal milling setups.
Designed for use in standard milling machines and machining centers accepting a 3/4-inch shank end mill holder or collet. Best suited for ferrous materials and alloys where cobalt tooling is recommended.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered off before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Secure the shank to the recommended engagement depth using a properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the drawbar or clamping mechanism per the holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut.
