The VALUE COLLECTION 723-6408 is a single-end corner rounding end mill designed to produce consistent radius profiles on workpiece edges in milling applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it offers increased heat and wear resistance compared to standard M2 HSS tooling, making it well suited for harder ferrous materials and interrupted cuts. The cutter measures 7/16 inches in diameter with a 3/64 inches corner radius and features four right-hand flutes with a right-hand cutting direction. The bright, uncoated finish is the as-ground surface with no additional coating applied. It is typically installed by machinists and tool-and-die technicians in vertical milling machines, CNC knee mills, and manual bridgeport-style setups.
This end mill is used in metalworking shops for edge-breaking and corner rounding operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar materials. The 3/8 inches shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders common in both manual and CNC milling equipment. The four-flute geometry provides a good balance of chip clearance and surface finish quality, making it appropriate for finishing passes on profiled edges in production and job-shop environments.
Designed for use in standard end mill holders and collet chucks accepting a 3/8 inches shank diameter, compatible with vertical milling machines, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills equipped with R8, CAT, BT, or similar tooling systems using the appropriate 3/8 inches collet or end mill holder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolroom practices. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked before inserting or removing the end mill from the holder. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the collet or end mill holder and verify tool runout before cutting. Consult machine manufacturer specifications for appropriate spindle speed and feed rate based on workpiece material and depth of cut.
