The VALUE COLLECTION 723-5877 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers strong heat and wear resistance in tough-to-machine materials. The mill measures 1.75 inches in diameter with a 0.75-inch shank diameter, a 2-inch length of cut, and a 4.25-inch overall length. Six flutes with a right-hand cutting and flute direction provide fast stock removal with good chip clearance. The bright, uncoated finish suits general-purpose roughing applications. This tool is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on manual or CNC milling machines.
This roughing end mill is suited for roughing passes on ferrous and non-ferrous metals where high material removal rates are the priority. The cobalt M42 substrate makes it a practical choice for harder alloys, stainless steels, and work-hardening materials that would accelerate wear on standard high-speed steel tooling. The single-end configuration and non-centercutting geometry mean it is intended for side milling, slotting from an existing hole, or profile passes rather than direct plunge entry. It fits standard 3/4-inch collets or end mill holders common on knee mills and CNC machining centers.
Designed for use in standard 3/4-inch end mill holders or collet chucks on manual knee mills, horizontal mills, and CNC machining centers requiring a single-end roughing tool in the 1-3/4-inch diameter class.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Secure the shank fully in a clean, undamaged end mill holder or collet to the holder manufacturer's specified clamping depth before engaging the spindle. Verify spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before running. Because this tool is non-centercutting, do not attempt direct plunge cuts into solid material without a pre-existing entry hole or ramping toolpath.
