The VALUE COLLECTION 723-5757 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool handles tough ferrous and non-ferrous materials where standard HSS tooling falls short. The 0.625-inch mill diameter paired with 4 flutes delivers efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting performance. With a 3.125-inch length of cut and 5.25-inch overall length, it suits deep-pocket and slotting work on vertical mills, knee mills, and machining centers. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC and manual setups.
This roughing end mill is suited for machine shops, tool rooms, and maintenance environments where fast stock removal is the priority. The coarse-tooth geometry reduces cutting forces and minimizes chatter compared to standard finishing end mills, making it effective on steels, alloy steels, and similar materials. It is a single-end tool, so once the cutting end is worn, the tool is replaced rather than re-indexed. Non-centercutting design means it requires a pre-drilled hole or ramp entry when plunge cuts are needed.
Designed as a direct-fit roughing end mill for any machine tool spindle accepting a 0.625-inch shank, including standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style side-lock holders used on vertical mills and CNC machining centers.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians using a standard end mill holder or collet chuck matched to the 0.625-inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered off before changing tooling. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after seating to maximize tool life and surface finish quality. Non-centercutting geometry requires a pilot hole or ramped entry path rather than direct plunge cuts.
