The VALUE COLLECTION 723-5735 is a single-end cobalt roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this end mill handles tough ferrous metals, stainless steels, and hard alloys where standard HSS tooling falls short. It features a 13/32 inch (0.4063 inch) cutting diameter, a 3/8 inch shank diameter, and a 1 inch length of cut, with an overall length of 2-11/16 inches. The bright, uncoated finish suits applications where coating compatibility with the workpiece material is a concern. Machinists and toolroom operators running manual knee mills or CNC machining centers reach for this style of end mill when roughing passes demand chip clearance and reduced cutting forces.
This roughing end mill is suited for use in job shops, production machining, and maintenance environments where ferrous and non-ferrous metals require high material-removal-rate roughing passes. The 4-flute, right-hand cutting and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional and climb milling on vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. The 3/8 inch shank fits standard ER and side-lock tool holders commonly found in shop inventory. It is a single-end tool; once the cutting end is worn, the tool is replaced rather than flipped.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use roughing end mill fitting standard 3/8 inch ER collet chucks, side-lock holders, and shrink-fit tool holders used in vertical machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Secure the 3/8 inch shank firmly in a clean, properly sized tool holder and torque the retention mechanism to the holder manufacturer's specification. This end mill is not center-cutting — do not attempt straight plunge entry into solid stock; use a pre-drilled starting hole or a programmed ramp or helical entry path. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use and replace the tool when runout or surface finish degrades.
