The VALUE COLLECTION 723-5515 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool handles tough ferrous and non-ferrous materials where standard HSS tooling falls short. It features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 2-1/2 inch overall length. The coarse pitch flute geometry produces a serrated cutting action that breaks chips into smaller segments, reducing cutting forces and heat buildup during heavy roughing passes. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals reach for this style of end mill when hogging out stock before finishing.
This roughing end mill is suited for use on manual knee mills, CNC machining centers, and drill-press setups where rigidity allows aggressive feeds. Its 3/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders without adapters. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are consistent with conventional milling operations on most machine tool setups. It is appropriate for roughing passes in steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar materials where chip load and tool deflection must be managed carefully.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for any milling machine or machining center accepting a 3/8 inch shank end mill holder or collet chuck.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolroom practices. Secure the shank fully within the collet or end mill holder to the manufacturer-specified minimum engagement depth before tightening. Note that this end mill is not centercutting and cannot be plunged directly into solid material — use a pre-drilled hole or ramp entry. Always bring the spindle to a complete stop and follow lockout procedures before changing or inspecting tooling.
